Ona Speedway is a 7/16 mile paved oval located near Ona, West Virginia.
The track and airpark were purchased by new owners in February of 2007 and improvements are planned.
New: 2005-05-07 Last Updated: 2007-03-28
The track opened on August 18th, 1963. The first race was a NASCAR Grand National event. NASCAR ran Grand National races at this track a total of 4 times. America's Speedways shows this track as a 3/8 mile oval beginning in 1964, but the official web site claims 7/16 for the length. The track did not run in 1974, from 1976-1994, and in 2000. It closed for 2003, reopening in 2005.
A quarter mile dragstrip operated in 1969-1970; this probably used the Ona Airpark.
The track has also operated as Huntington International Speedway, International Raceway Park, Dick Clark's International Raceway Park (yes, that Dick Clark, the one on the TeeVee), and West Virginia International Speedway.
