Fonda Speedway is a 1/2 mile dirt oval located at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Fonda, NY.

Racing at Fonda Speedway started in 1927; 6 events were held from September 10th, 1927 to 1939. The first race in 1927 was AAA sanctioned. Racing restarted briefly in 1948, and the modern era began on May 30th, 1953. A 1/8 mile drag strip operated in 1957 & 1958. A 1/4 mile dragstrip opened on May 20th, 1959 and operated through 1968. Shirley Muldowney's drag racing career started on the Fonda dragstrip in 1958. A 1/8 mile dirt figure 8 was added on September 1st, 2001.

The name Fonda Speedway was first used in 1953. The track has also operated as Thruway Speedway, Fonda-Fultonville Speedway and New Fonda Speedway.

Fonda Speedway is near Exit 28 of the NYS Thruway (I-90), west of Schenectady, NY. After going through the exit 28 toll booth turn left on Riverside Drive, proceed to the traffic light and turn right on to Bridge Street. The speedway is on the right just after you go over the bridge.
