Bayou Speedway

Bayou Speedway was a 1/4 mile high banked clay surfaced track located near Minden, Louisana.

Bayou Speedway shut down for various reasons in 1999, and does not seem to have resumed operation since. More details appear in the historical note.

Historical Note

Up until the track's closing, track maintenence was done by a Mr. Hammett (81 years), who was the original track owner, taking care of it for its present owners.

In late 1999, the track stopped operations due to the health of owner Delane Hicks, and subsequent problems with the Abbitt Estate.

The Yahoo! Map marks the junction of Allen Drive and Old Shreveport Road; the track is a short distance north of this junction on Allen Drive.

Take I-20 to Minden; then East on US 80; Then U-turn left on Old Shreveport Rd, and finally Right on Allen Drive.
