West 16th Street Speedway was built by Rags Mitchell just after WWII. The track operated from May 29th, 1946 through May 30th, 1958. The site was sold to a developer who built the shopping center that is there today.
This track also operated as Indianapolis Midget Speedway, Speedbowl Park, 16th Street Speedway, and Rag Mitchell's West 16th Street Speedway.
