Motion Raceway

Motion Raceway was a 1/4 mile dragstrip located a short distance north of Assumption, Illinois.

The dragstrip pavement still exists although all the other facilities have been removed. It has most recently been used for grain storage.

Historical Note

The track operated from 1970 to 1983. In its final years it ran at 1000' distance due to insufficient shutdown. An attempt was made to bring it back around 2008 but the plans fell through.
